The Story of the Grub & Go Guys

I’m really excited to share this video with everyone because of what these guys represent to NeighborLink, the community, and to themselves. This is the story of a group of guys who choose to redeem their retirement, unemployment, or their extra time due to under-employment.

Grub and Go is a group of retired, unemployed or underemployed men, who choose to spend time giving back to the Fort Wayne, IN community by primarily taking NeighborLink Fort Wayne projects. The 25 guys did over 300 projects in 2011.

Grub and Go was birthed out of Fellowship Missionary Church on Fort Wayne’s south side after many of these men were looking for ways to stay engaged beyond the church’s one Saturday a month GO Days. The group is now made up of men, and occasionally their wives, from all over the Fort Wayne area. Some driving 20+ minutes to join them every Tuesday and Thursday morning for breakfast, fellowship and to service until around noon.
